What is the mystique of a “52 Tele? Why is it so many guitarists’ “Holy Grail”, (it is after all the epitome of simplicity)
Where does it’s’ tone come from?
Obviously body and neck wood has a major part to play but even today if you replicate a Swamp ash body and team it with a deep profile Maple neck it still doesn’t sound quite right, until you put an old style three saddle bridge on it.
Now you have the sound – the only thing you don’t have is perfect intonation! So you have this great guitar and you still can’t use it!
The WT3 has been designed to address this problem.
The saddles are the same dimension as the original, as is the thin gauge steel base plate, (the base plate has to be steel as this affects the magnetic field of the pickup it surrounds, brass, stainless steel or aluminium will not have this authentic effect).
It is the design of the saddle that makes this bridge unique. Unlocking the screw in the center of the saddle will allow you to adjust it through any degree of rotation that you need to achieve perfect string-to-string intonation. Simple isn’t it?
So if you have an original Tele or any other version of this great guitar you can have all the original tone and features and play in tune as well!
